Like the standard cover feeder, the new horizontal cover feeder with its compact design is a modular addition that can also be retrofitted. It can be equipped quite ergonomically and, with its continuous air cushion, is almost free of markings. Thanks to its compact design, this cover feeder (like any standard signature feeder) can be configured in any position as required downstream from the standard cover feeder. This gives you the option of processing raw sheets individually and in series at any time, meaning that an upstream process – folding – can be dispensed with. That is, several compact cover feeders can also be implemented within a single system configuration. The sheet run on an air cushion running towards the inside or outside scoring station ensures precise folding of the covers(scoring individually adjustable). Like all other components, the horizontal cover feeder is also equipped with a colour touch display.
Hohner of course also offers a horizontal signature feeder on request. The missing-sheet notification ensures appropriate ejection through sequential monitoring. The opening elements can be automatically switched from the high folio to the low folio and suction opening completely without tools. This means that as a rule, all standard folding sheets can be processed, ranging from four-pages upwards, with absolute product protection and safety. In addition, all our signature feeders can be tilted backwards and up, thus providing optimum access to the chain in the event of manual feeding or integration of a card cluer adhesion device or other additional assemblies. It is possible to configure a custom system by combining individual feeders. This performance spectrum is second to none! Like all other components, the horizontal cover feeder is also equipped with a colour touch display.

Our cover vertical feeder, designed at an ergonomic height, is a modular supplement that can also be retrofitted. It also works vertically and can therefore be equipped with a larger number of sheets than horizontal cover feeders. In addition, this guarantees optimum surface protection and an extremely easy-running towards the positive or negative scoring station for precise folding of the cover(scoring can be customised). Problems like stripes and marks are therefore no longer an issue. Your quality in postpress processing is important to us and your customers! Like all other components, the vertical cover feeder is also equipped with a colour display.
Our customers are convinced by our double-sheet monitoring, length monitoring and square sheet monitoring systems. A press of the teaching button is all it takes. The monitoring sensor reads in the exact measurements on a fully automatic basis without settings. The thickness control system is mounted on the side, preventing the signatures from “warping”. In colour and 15 inches across: Our central touch screen features extremely simple operation, clearly arranged screens and optimal visualization. All production and machine datas can be read immediately and precisely at a glance. Job set up is simple and effective due to the clear display, which shows only the most necessary information. In addition, each individual system component has a separate touch control unit (HMI). Product and order data are entered using a pragmatically designed and user-friendly menu. Additional system functions can be managed in the submenu. Our systems make the service team on site largely superfluous: an Ethernet interface enables remote diagnostics from our factory in the shortest possible time. This is intelligence combined with flexibility and user-friendliness.
Hohner narrow stitching heads stand for sector expertise. The special HSS 42/6 narrow stitching heads developed by Hohner for the HSB 13.000, in combination with the modular wire stitching station, offer additional significant advantages to the user. Compact stitching heads travel with and ensure that your product is stitched in motion and that the production flow is not interrupted. Fully automatic adjustment eliminates the time-consuming adaptation of the stitching heads and clinchers, installed as standard. The wire advance installed in the HSB 13.000 is separated from the stitching heads by an electric servo drive and reduces the moving masses, leading to considerably less wear. The sheets are handled extremely gently during the stitching process. The function for checking the staples is integrated in the individual stitching heads. This means that each individual stitching head is monitored separately. Flexible, fast and precise – booklet assembly from Hohner, as it should be.
Using a transfer unit designed by Hohner that is unique to this day, the sheets are transferred quickly and precisely to the trimmer at a 90° angle using a sophisticated gripper bar. This is ensured by a shuttle that is optimally designed for the service performance of the HSB 13.000. The advantages of this 90° technology are obvious: The sheets are always automatically positioned correctly in the current process, regardless of speed changes. Thanks to the generous radii of the deflection rollers, the booklets (products) are optimally guided. Additional adjustment functions enable even extremely thick and wide booklets to be handled gently. Hohner knows your needs and always finds unique solutions for working faster, with more flexibility and according to the highest quality of standards.
With this component, all relevant parameters for three-sided trimming are set automatically at the touch of a button. Even the two up set-up can be configured in just a few minutes (various punching knives are optionally available). The new electronic handwheel enables operation that is clear and quite simple. Various functions can be activated with a simple rotation, such as moving the trimmer forwards and backwards, blade changing (separating cut) and even self-synchronization after you leave the configuration menu. Our innovative gear technology allows the belts to be gently slowed down so that even products at high speed can reach the back stops gently. This trimmer features assure a quiet running and cutting accuracy as well as blades that are connected in a stable frame construction (a yoke) and precisely guided by twelve recirculating ball bearing bushings. This results in a long service life for the blades and a high-precision guidance system that is absolutely free of play. In order to achieve optimum surface protection, the conveyor belts are completely standing still during the cutting process. The trimmer, as well as the other system components, can each be individually expanded through the integration of many useful options. The resulting quality is what sets the Hohner system apart.
Hohner offers the perfect conveyer table for all applications. Connecting other units (including units from other manufacturers) or Hohner delivery devices such as compensating stackers or shingle conveyors is easy and problem free.
The proven Hohner shingle delivery automatically picks up products by batches. Depending on space requirements, straight delivery can be selected in various lengths. An optional conveyer table with offset device also enables longer acceptance intervals, which are marked by lateral offset of the batches. For you, this means more order and peace in production. The ability to anticipate the customer’s needs – another Hohner strength.
The Hohner compensating counter stacker is also fully integrated into the automation of the saddle stitcher. It accepts all relevant data, adjusts itself independently to the current requirement and precisely adapts to the specifications in terms of stack height and pivot points. Lateral and longitudinal vibrators are standard equipment. The collection chute has two levels, with level 1 being used for single or multiple pre-collection (depending on the settings) and level 2, with its intermediate storage, guaranteeing a clean transfer to the turntable.
